Austrian-Russian violinist Yury Revich, 27, Young Artist of the Year of the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) in 2015, pursues a brilliant international career. Together with the Italian pianist Fiorenzo Pascalucci he launched their own Beethoven Project for the upcoming Beethoven Year 2020. They have prepared all of the composer’s violin sonatas in a historical set up.
Yury Revich says: « I’ve been busy with Beethoven music for many years (we even founded the Beethoven Society for Music and Research with Yuliya Draganova), and I have been always appreciative of the historical, original way of playing, respecting the wish of the composer and the tools he had to compose with.
Hammerklavier (Fortepiano) and violin (with a historical set up) merge together in one organic sound wave which creates a unique experience of an orchestra-like sound, which helps to understand the symphonic thinking of Beethoven when he was composing the sonatas. »
