Tenor Julian Prégardien was given his trophy for the award he won in the 2017 ICMA, Vocal recital category. Prégardien had to cancel the Award Ceremony in Leipzig, April 1st, due to illness.

Der 51-jährige Geiger Christian Tetzlaff, der 2015 mit dem ‘Artist of the Year Award’ der ICMA ausgezeichnet wurde, erhält den Würth-Musikpreis der ‘Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland’. In der Begründung der Jury heißt es, Tetzlaff werde ausgezeichnet für seine außergewöhnlichen Interpretationen und für sein Engagement, insbesondere jungen Menschen einen Zugang zur klassischen Musik zu öffnen.

In Schwarzenberg (Vorarlberg), im Dreiländereck Schweiz, Deutschland, Österreich, findet nach ersten Konzerten im vergangenen Frühjahr nun das zweite Festival ‘Alpenarte’ vom 26.-29. Oktober statt. Die von Drazen Domjanic entwickelte Festspielidee ist es, jungen, schon preisgekrönten Musikern ein Podium zu geben. Dazu wird jeweils auch ein solcher Solist als ‘Intendant in Residence’ bestellt.

Genia Kühmeier hat Konzerte bei den Berliner Philharmonikern krankheitsbedingt abgesagt. ICMA Young Artist 2017 Elsa Dreisig singt an ihrer Stelle und gibt damit ihr Debüt beim Orchester.
