For the 2016 awards the Jury of the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) has nominated 364 audio and video productions (up from 248 in 2015) from 115 labels (up from 85 in 2015). There are significant increases in the Early Music and Contemporary Music sections with + 50% in both categories.
With 21 nominations, Harmonia Mundi is once more on the first place, followed by Sony Classical (15) and BIS (14). Audite, Hyperion and Oehms Classics share the fourth place with 12 nominations each.
The 115 labels represent 18 countries from Europe, Asia and North America. With 35 labels, Germany is leading before France (17) the UK (15) and Belgium (11).

Our list is not only the departure point of the Jury’s subsequent voting, it is also a recognition of quality and every nominated production may therefore be styled as ICMA Nomination. »
The list with the three finalists in each category will be available in December. The final result with the winners will be published on January 20, 2016. The Award Ceremony and Gala concert is scheduled for April 1, 2016, in San Sebastian, Basque Country in Spain, with the Euskadi Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jun Märkl.
