Three young ICMA artists conquered Paris

Three young ICMA awardees performed in Paris in just one week. German pianist Joseph Moog, ICMA Young Artist of the Year 2014, was the soloist in Sergei Rachmaninovs Paganini Rhapsody op. 43 with the Orchestre de l’Opéra national de Paris conducted by Vello Pähn.

The piece was choreographed by Frederick Ashton at the National Opera, Palais Garnier.

Yuan Yu, Carnaval des animaux

Chinese flutist Yuan Yu, winner of the Discovery Award 2018, was a soloist in Le carnaval des animaux (préhistoriques) at Salle Cortot, funnily revisited in a unique staging with lights, smoke, animal cries and video projections, played by the musicians of the Centre de musique de chambre de Paris. Besides the Saint-Saëns composition the program comprised Guillaume Connesson’s Jurassic Trip.

And Turkish pianist Can Cakmur played a much applauded recital at the Vuitton Foundation. Here are two articles about this concert.
